The Disney Magic is moving to Texas in September 2012!
Disney Magic Cruises reports that the Disney Magic will be moving from Mobile AL to Galveston, TX in 2012. The Disney Magic is one of the two original sister ships that got Disney Cruise Line started taking the wonder of Disney on magical voyages at sea. Today, April 6, 2011, Disney announced that the Magic will be making way for one of the newest Disney ships, the Disney Fantasy. The brand new Disney Fantasy will take over at Port Canaveral, Florida in September 2012 and the Magic will relocate to Galveston, Texas.
The Disney Magic will continue to enchant its 2,700 passengers as she begins 12 itineraries that will take its guests on 7-night cruises to unforgettable islands in western Caribbean. Rates will start at $840 per person for a standard stateroom with the first cruise out of the port of Galveston starting on September 22, 2012. Guests will be pleased to hear that this ship will take them away on a high seas adventure to the ports of Grand Cayman, Costa Maya and Cozumel, just to name a few. Disney Magic Cruise passengers will be pleased to know that Galveston has many tourist attractions that are well worth visiting either before or after your cruise. You will want to consider Galveston’s downtown shopping, hotels in addition to the Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Waterpark, Bayport and NASA.
Disney is sending more cruise magic to the port of Galveston. The Disney Magic will join the “Carnival Magic”, “Carnival Triumph”, Princess Cruise Lines “Crown Princess” and Royal Caribbean’s “Voyager of the Seas” offering an array of cruise options out of Galveston in late 2012.
